GET RID! leopards never change their spots but they will get more sneaky ig given another chance. if she stays then you will need to buy lots of padlocks. padlock your rug on and take your feed home and take it up daily. personally your YO needs to sort this one. good luck but i would hedge your bets and look around for alternative livery. she might do the tears etc to the yard owner. sorry but she is manipulative. a thief. doesnt give a toss about any other owners or their horses. she is ON THE TAKE, and sadly you are providing.at your expense.
 
I agree with soulful, sounds a real mental case. Sorry for horses, but you all need to protect your own, not to mention equipment etc. She is a sad case no matter what the cause: but not your problem to sort her life. You keep your horses for pleasure and should enjoy time at the yard. Get rid of her, calmly but efficiently.
 
My jaw dropped and hit my knee on reading your post. Its so outrageous, its funny. Is she for real ?
Give her the facts, no shouting, no over embellishment, just how it is. Allow her a couple of days to think about it and if she doesn't toe the line (no ifs or butts), get her off the yard before she ends up under the muck heap.

She actually took a rug off your horse's back and put it on hers? Leaving your horse naked overnight? I can't actually get to grips with that!

Is there a room/stable you/ you and the others existing liveries can lock your things up in? I'd have to say I'd either lock up or take my feed, spare rugs etc home with me until she was gone.

... and she does need to go. Pronto. It won't stop, if the behaviour changes at all it'll just go undercover and be even more difficult to sort out. :(

And divorce/serious personal problems is no excuse to steal.
 
Sorry no sympathy, why didn't you sort out problem sooner with YO, if somebody took rug off my horse, she'd ended up in muckheap and seeing there are several of you getting on well, why take the words of someone you all dislike about each other??

I can't believe that anyone would actually remove a rug from a horse and put it on their own. In all the 35 years of owning horses, I've never come across anyone doing that before, and I've seen a lot of horse owners in that time.

When my poor old TB,s nice warm rug was stolen off his back in mid winter, the local bobby told me it was the work of a woman, only they could be that vicious! He served in brixton prior to a well deserved soft posting,and knew his stuff.
 
Yes, but there is a difference between theft, and swiping one off the back of a horse and putting it on one's own when you know the owner is going to know!!

If someone took my horse's rug off and put it on her own, I'm sorry but there could easily be murder. I'm usually a gentle soul but i would probably have resorted to physical violence. As others have said, she's done this before elsewhere which is why she is so good at it, she'll move on and do it again elsewhere. I've seen it happen. You will all be left thinking "why did we wait so long before getting rid of her2. Get together and do it now. Stealing food, bedding etc is totally unacceptable. What are you waiting for?? She is ruining all your lives and if she or her horse's actions result in injury/damage there is no way you will ever get compensation out of her. Act before its too late.
