It is a 5* equi trek. It is blue below ramp level and silver or grey above with a large horse graphic. Someone is trying to sell it to me and I do not believe they are the owners.

Is it yours? Is it stolen? Contact me urgently if you recognise it. Someone may have photographed it elsewhere and are trying a scam.

Thanks

Do you mean this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190551561126&ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:GB:1123
I contacted the seller for more info and they tried to sell it to me for £3200 with free delivery. Seemed too good to be true in my eyes and only seemed to want payment direct into their bank and for them to deliver it.

If you need the email address to trace this trailer pm me.

Haven't checked on ebay but pretty sure we are talking about the same trailer. I have reported it to the fraud police and only wish what is to good to be true was true!! They are still chasing me for payment. Did you proceed at all? The email is joolliffe1771@hotmail.co.uk. Is this the same as yours? Just wonder who this trailer belongs to and whether the owners are aware there are photos available...or whether it has been stolen already.

Its pretty scary. I looked at the listing and wouldnt have known it maybe a scam. They had 100% feedback and had sold some horsey items before. What made you think it was dodgy?

Yes thats the same email.

The emails I received where not very good english and they would only accept payment through their bank account with them delivering the trailer. They where not interested in cash on collection or me picking up the trailer. Also they currently had bids upto £2800 with a couple of days left but only wanted £3200 when another one of the same model was on there selling for £9000

No I didnt proceed further than a couple of emails, I just didnt seem right as much as I wanted it:(. Not heard any more from the seller. Where did you see/ hear about it?

This is what one of their emails said:
"Hello,

Thanks for your reply .
I have attach you photos with the trailer.
It is in perfectly condition and if you are ready to pay me £3,200.00 GBP you have a deal with a free delivery to your place
Check the photos and reply me to move on with our transaction if you are ready to buy it.We close our deal ONLY via ebay and for that I need your confirmation that we have a deal. Once I have it, I contact ebay with all the details , ebay will check everything and will contact you with an invoice with all the details. The delivery will be in Max 3 days after the payment is confirmed by ebay.
Once you have received you have 14 days return policy to inspect it .The return policy work like this. You have 14 days for inspection. If the item isn't as you expected to be or if you aren't happy with your purchase you can return it back and you will get a full refund((everything at my cost)."

Have either of you reported it to Ebay? only that you could well end up with poor feedback if they report for non paying and ebay doesn't know the reason? And I wonder if Equitrek have a listing/report for stolen trailers that you means you could check the serial number on (I am thinking of Ifor Trailers who do this - don't know if EquiTrek do?)

I didnt bid on it so no chance of poor feedback. I wouldnt know the serial number if one as didnt go and view it just asked for more info.

Just looked at ended listing. You did well that you didnt bid,as EBAY tell you NOT to pay via bank transfer as its NOT covered and I hope knowone won it as theyre gonna get scammed.Sounds too fishy to be real.I think the seller ended listing too avoid fraud squad team on ebay?????

I have reported this guy to the Police as well as ebay 6 times in the past month. He is hacking into peoples ebay accounts! Couple of tricks to catch him out. Check on the sellers feedback and see if he normally sells this sort of item. A lot of them dont even sell or buy horse items. Only offer to pay cash on collection. DO NOT send payment by any means for this amount of money unless you want to lose it, they are very clever at copying ebay and paypal screens! He tends to only list item for 3 days. He also leaves a completely different email address for you to respond to.

Otherwise be realistic, you will NOT get a £8k trailer for £3k, he offered the blue one to me for £1800. That particular trailer belongs to someone I know and knew it was a scam immediately. If you trawl the sites looking for trailers you can see which ones he is copying!

Hi there I am one of the stupid ones that got caught out. Thought it was too good to be true and I am now paying the price. They even managed to log into my ebay account.

He's on the loose again. We nearly fell for his fake ebay invoice in May (£4500) but the bank realised it was a fake invoice. It was a Black Equi Trek Star Treka. This week he advertising a Red version. Is there any way of stopping him.

I recently bought a 5 star, and when looking for it I saw quite a few of these types of ads! Who is the best person to report them to? eBay?

I'm not sure who you report it to on Ebay as we looked and couldn't find a number. We have reported them to the police today! What will come of it I'm not sure as there seems to be a lot of scams going on. My advice it to pay on collection them you know what you getting.

On the Ebay listing there is something you can click that says 'report this item' (it is in blue). This then clicks you through and you can choose why you are reporting it. I always choose the 'fraudulent listing activities - this seller does not own the item'. I am not looking for a trailer but when I was I was reporting at least 1 dodgy Equi-trek a week on Ebay. They do take them down pretty quickly once reported. Also watch out on preloved have seen some of the same adverts popping up.

There is another Equi Trek on Ebay today which could well be the same scam. This time its a blue one. Apologies if this is a genuine sale but the advert does appear to be similar to the others. What colour will he go for next!!!!!

Someone tried to do this to us but it was a camper van, the give away us they will want bank transfer ir send you a dodgy eBay invoice and also offer to deliver. No one in there right mind will deliver a trailer/ camper van anywhere in the uk for free. We bud the camper up to a million quid to spoil the auction and reported to eBay and there is also a fraud website.
