Is the future of metal shoeing bleek?

or is its going to remain strong.
In a discussion (sp) we were talking about all the latest method of shoeing that has come out in the last few years. ie. boa boot, horse slips (flexible horse shoe), barefoot trimming, turf king hoof boots ect.. and more recently we have seem many of our friends and workers with horses start using the alternatives instead of traditional shoeing ? I highly doubt traditional shoeing will die out. Whats your opinion and what do your horses have ? My mare wears shoes

Mine are shod traditionally. My farrier has done some glue on shoes for people, but mainly shoes hunters, driving horses & lesuire horses.

Mine is done traditionally as in he has metal shoes, but my farrier does shoe with quarter clips infront to keep the breakover point back

One shod all round, but at the rate she pulls shoes off I might have to reconsider! Advantage to the normal shoeing though is that the hind shoes can help her hocks.

One barefoot as has excellent feet. One shod in front only, though may consider boots for him.

Mine traditional - hes soo big shoes have to be made by farrier! Hes shod because he gets footsore (have tried half set and fully barefoot). And has to be heavily sedated - nightmare lol!

Trying to go 'barefoot' does seem to be gaining in popularity, but I don't believe for a moment that shoeing will slow down significantly or stop.
