Is your car messier than your horse's stable?

This made me laugh it is a standing joke how messy my car is my ex calls it the skip on wheels stables clean lorry scrubbed out after every use.:o The upside is i reckon if you ever got stranded in my car you could probably find enough different things from clothes to tools to food to survive a month.:)

OMG I honestly can say that I cannot remember the last time I saw the carpet in my car!!!

Have 2 yard dogs aswell in the back!

Tack, straw, haylage, feed .... you name it its been in there!

Cillit bang and a dyson would run screaming away from my car!!!!

A valetters nightmare!

I have two Great Danes, too many horses, and a Ford Focus.

Needless to say, my car is RANK.

The Land Rover is cleaner! It only comes out to play in the snow as it's so bloomin' big and noisy, and coollld!

I took my car to be valetted (sp?!) a few months ago, and they refused...

that was rather embarrassing...

Having read the other posts I don't feel as bad about the state of my car now :D Not sure if theres more mud on the inside or out to be honest. Have horsey bits in the boot which prob take up just over half the space there. Shopping gets squeezed around them :o :p When I give the kids lifts anywhere riding hats and gloves etc have to be shunted along the seat to make room for them :o

Oh and I have a Peugot 106

I think we should have a who has the messiest car photo comp. I feel i may win. Mine has been cleaned twice in 3 years. It's not been cleaned for about 18 months at the minute, at all. I work in it all day too so there's crumbs and bits of food rotting away in there, which is disgusting and makes me feel a bit icky when i think about it. But it's easier to buy an air freshener and then i get to spend more time with the horse, much better than spending it cleaning out a minging car.

I would like to take it for a valet.... but really i am so ashamed of it and i am worried they would refuse. It smells like a wheelie bin a horse weed in. With a cheapo air freshner chucked in. Not been able to let anyone in it for absolutely months....

Stable/ field shelter always spotless though :D That's what matters!

Got my car off a co-worker, after it went through 4 years of his small child...then it's had pony stuff...and friend's toddler and infant...took it for repairs, just after the toddler had thrown a paddy (and about a family-sized box of cheerios). The repairs were OUCH!!! on the old pocketbook, and when I commented to the garage man that I didn't know what I was going to be eating for the rest of the month, he recommended that I could always live off the cheerios... :o

LOL Spookypony!
My car isn't too bad, no hay/feed etc as it's a pickup and all the big stuff goes in the boot. Carrier bag full of rubbish in passenger foot well, hunters clogs, wellies and shoes in the back, the tack that I have taken home to clean and a bag full of car bits (tow rope, jump leads, antifreeze, oil etc.). It is muddy as the dog has to go on the back seat but I do have waterproof seat covers which get hosed down every so often.

Hell NO!

The truck is spotless, I am not even allowed in it with horsey clothes on! To be fair OH though gets terrible fur allergies in confined spaces and he is a clean freak about his 'baby' it goes through the carwash at least once a week and gets vacuumed more often than the house does.

Even the groceries travel home in the bed of the truck not actually INSIDE the cab!

Yes! Car is filthy, which is strange as I'm OCD when it comes to cleanliness and tidyness in every other aspect of my life!!
OH gave the car a good old cleaning as he was sick of it being such a state-2 days later and back to its muddy, tack covered self! :D:o

it was until sunday when hubby had to muck it out as it was in to the garage yesterday, it really needs a good hoover out but he didnt have time to do that
it gets washed when it rains, no point in washing it it just gets dirty again:rolleyes:

made me laugh similar to me!!

OH cleaned mine last weekend inside and out, ive been riding several times and done 2000miles for work on and off of construction sites and OH went to borrow camera out of it this morning cue shout up the stairs 'your car is like a skip, i only cleaned it the other day' hmmm im meant to be going to head office tommorrow might have to chuck it through a car wash and lob everything in the boot to make it look half decent, i thought putting everything in boxes (I too am slightly ocd about cleanliness) would help but it hasn't. In my defense i am waiting for a new company car which i WILL keep clean but just cant be bothered at the mo plus this weather is making it impossible !!

The funniest thing is i havent even got a horsey in my life currently so imagine what it would look like if i did!!! :D

I have just this minute been and bought some horse feed. The bag split all over my car. There is horse food literally everywhere. I really shouldn't bother having a lovely brand new car when I have horses. It's ruined already. Muddy, smells from their rugs in the boot, scratches from going down the lanes and having sticking out branches brush along it. Oh dear :(

Sure is, four dogs, muddy fields, say no more. Off to muck it out now 'cos it needs to go in for an MOT and I'll still have to apologise for the state of it AFTER I've mucked it out!

Heck yes. It's embarrassing to the point where I avoid taking anyone in it apart from close family (and even they're repulsed - even the ones who ride!).

I've moved yards twice recently, once last May and then back to my original one a week ago, so it's carried all sorts of horsey gear. In between I've carted dogs, cats, kids, adults, Christmas trees, water canisters, you name it.

Know how many times I've hoovered the inside or even washed the outside since May? Twice. Seriously.

My horse's stable is immaculate and I hardly leave a strand of hay untouched. Guess where my priorities lie? :o

**Buries head in shame** I had to drive to work in my own car (usually get a lift with my dad as we work for the same company!) and it turned out my car hasnt been cleaned for so long i cant remember the last time it was! Theres mud, feed, bedding, hay, mud, mouldy feed that i was suppose to return months ago and still havent so its still in there!!! anyway cut a long story short i unexpectedly had to take my DIRECTOR  to the train station....needless to say he didnt want a lift back to the office..... :D hahahahahahahaha even worse is I work for a contract cleaning company!!!!!!!!!! lmao

I'm actually embarrassed of the inside of my car at the moment :o

I got in it yesterday and thought, what the heck is that smell? it was indeed my car. Must clean it . . . . .

I know how you feel :o my stables are swept with a perfectly straight bed, waterbuckets scrubbed out, fresh hay which is pefectly compacted in the hay bar. outside of my stable - spotless! lock up, spotless! It's like proper OCD.

My car, is gross. It smells, it was silver, its now brown/silver/black. My greasemonkey mechanic boyfriend won't get in it incase he gets dirty... sounds really bad. But i'm still clean when I get to work so who cares! I'll pay the polish to do it at the weekend me thinks......

This post makes me feel so much better!

My boot and back seat are full of dirty rugs, bandages, numnahs etc that I need to get around to washing and taking back up to the yard. Not to mention all the coats and yard clothes that are too stinky to come in the house so live in the car. It's covered in mud and bits of hay and assorted skank and smells like something may have died in it.

I had to give my boss a lift to collect his car from the garage last week and was completely mortified at the state of it.

It's having a service next week so might treat it to a valet this week as I'm embarrased to send it to the garage as it is!

I've cleaned my shed on wheels on Sunday night, well, roughly tidied it up - removed a bin bag of sandwich wrappers and red bull cans, some hay, straw, shavings, rotten sugar beet and an abundance of tools/wire/nails etc. All that so my OH could take it for essential mechanical TLC on Monday, as he works away during the week, I was left with his lovely, shiny, perfumed commuter car - me and my dogs are in the process of turning it into a shed as I type :D

oh good god yes!!!

I have a 12 month old car and it is disgusting!!

Its so bad I have to make room once a week for my sister to fit in!!!

Boot is full of first aid gear mixed in with horsey stuff, back seat is pilled high with gear too. Front passenger seat gets a dumping ground for my clothes

covered in mud and hay inside and out

My sister is ashamed she even bought me car air freshners for christmas do you think she was trying to tell me something??

I feel sure I would win for the messiest car inside, but the rain recently washed the outside lol

yes!!!

my mums car is only two years old and it had to go in for an emergency repair and she had to repeatedly apologise for the state of her car,

- it smells of horse HEAVEN!
- has hay all over it INSULATION!
- mud all over it CAMOUFLAGE!
- has random empty feed bags in the boot
GREAT FOR PUTTING ON SCREENS TO STOP HAVING TO SCRAPE ICE EARLY IN THE MORNING!
- empty water containers etc NEED WATER FOR THE KETTLE IN THE YARD!

Mine stinks of horse wee! (Not so heavenly) my other half commented on it but I only noticed it when I jumped in it one lunchtime last week and had to borrow a lavender room stinky-thingy! When I got to a garage I bought a nutradol car stinky-thingy - hate that reminds me of stinky toilets! Then it was a bit artificial lavender/horse wee! Now I can't smell anything (think its something to do with the 'change'!!! if you get my meaning!).
That has to be a good thing - right?
When my beloved Disco got written-off in August my other half and his brother had to go to the compound and 'clean' it out - can you imagine! His brother said he had never seen so many chocolate wrappers!
Years ago I gave my little white Peugeot car to my parents - they got stuck in mucking it out and said they must have got half a horse out of it (some of it was dog hair!). They ended up with a large ball of sticky tape and hair! Well I did GIVE it to them what more do they want?!

House is the same - only have time to work and do the yard! ;)
