Apparently Cloud our little pony mare and Ezzy our stallion were married last weekend. Here is Cloud on her big day, LOL!!

Bless Cloudy! Is theirs going to a monogamous marriage?

She's so cute. Baby belly still fits in her rugs then! Love the stone barn

May they be very happy together.
Or, was it a shotgun wedding!?

Are you hoping for a paint foal?

Well, my foalie is not only going to be born on the wrong side of the blanket but it's a case of putting "Father unknown" on the Birth certificate.

Poor thing, I'm hoping that registering it as a p/b arab will make it feel more secure.

When Cloud gets closer to her time will you be separating her from the herd? Just wondering what is best for Lola, separate or leave her with her field mate? Guess I'll have to play it by ear.
ps......did you get Beatrix Potter?

editted........to say, that will teach me to read all the posts won't it?

Have a look at my other new post Enfys regarding Trixie.

Funnily enough, I have just come off the phone to a really good vet friend of mine. He was the one who had Cloud and Megan come up and stay for a week in the Summer and he scanned Cloud for Meg to see the *coughs......splutters.......black blob.......I mean...* baby.

Anyway I was asking him about what vaccinations and worming they tend to advise over here and we were chatting about the foaling. He pretty much advised me of what I was planning to do anyway.

Cloud is due on the 7th April and I do have a foaling box, however I don't think I will use it now. I am going to section the barn off so that she can still be within the herd but away from them if you know what I mean. A couple of weeks before it is due I will start to put her in there at night and through the day I'll put her in the top corral through the day so that her herd are still around her but can't interfere with the birthing. She will be going back in there after her foal heat, so I don't want to have any trouble with them all accepting the foal, especially the stallion, not that I expect any trouble from him as he is never trouble.

Oh yes it will be monogamous - but from now on she will likely remain celibate!! I'm not intending breeding her again - this was purely a one-off for sentimental reasons. She can still live with Ezzy when she isn't in season though as that works well.

She's a cute little critter and used to having bizarre things done to her. At Hallowe'en she was given a scary mask to wear........

PMSL!!! lol, that is so funny, really reminded me when i was 8 and christened and then later on married our 2 cats billy and poopy! hehe!

My 2 mares never met the father, well only from a distance, lol.

Oh Tia -- That is just too too funny.

My gal's foal was SO illegitimate -- she snuck off to see my neighbor's 16+HH rope horse in the dark of night when she was only 4 and not even 14HH herself. So TOTALLY a teenage mom and after Phoebe was born, she was always trying to leave the baby care up to me. She positively hated nursing but mean ole grandma wouldn't let her switch to bottles. Have never seen less maternal nature in a mare ever. LOL!!!! Hopefully, the marriage works out well for all.
