Well, I am a morning person, so am guessing that has a lot to do with it.

Whenever I ride in the mornings, my girl is fab and generally very well behaved. However of the last few weeks, whenever I have ridden in the afternoons she is an absolute *****! She gets spooked by everything and I can't get an ounce of work out of her.

I am guessing that after much thought that it is my mood. Even though I dont think I am in a mood, I do get tired and the stresses of the day have mounted up. I am guessing that at 7am I am not fully awake therefore I am not carrying thoughts of the day.

Plus I should go on gut instinct, was going to hack this afternoon, but the aeroplanes were on the runways, so couldn't go out as they were taking off and landing in my path. So I thought Id maybe lunge as an alternative, but no, I schooled and it was a disaster. Maybe I wasn't in the mood for it.

Tomorrow we are going to the country park in the afternoon, but I will be really excited, so know it will be a fun ride.

Can horses really be this sensitive?? I know have a TB, but really! Sensing my tiredness and worries about the day??

I agree my mare is always more cheerful and forward going in the morning! My shift change means I always ride in the evenings now and she us more sluggish! Although she is always happy to see me in the afternoon and will come cantering over to me! If we ride out in company then she's much more willing! I suppose they must get bored of doing the same thing day in day out and like a bit of variety like we do! X
