Loxley is very cuddly, but I'm wondering if that's because he's old and has given in to the cuddles, sherry just about tolerates it, but she's still young and may become more affectionate (hopefully). BUT, Darcy will not stand for a cuddle, not at all, you try and cuddle his head and he'll wallop you in the face 😅

I have an older gelding who is a teddy bear shaped like a highland pony!! He will let you cuddle him all day and loves it. My other horse - an ID cross mare gives you the worst kind of mare stare if you even try it - she's just not a cuddly type at all.

My boys can be super cuddly. Rex adores everybody but he's also a bit gormless lol. Rocket would be extremely offended if randoms started mauling him, I can do just sbout anything with him though 😂😂😂 He will tolerate other people if they have proven to be food source 🙄
My Mini Shitland, ShitPig, however has permanent resting b!tch face and is as cuddly as a wasps nest 🙈😂

The mare in my picture was a bit take it or leave it, big horse Wanda gave the most gentle smooches with soft breathing down my neck. I would sooner cuddle a shark than try to cuddle dear little Lilli, my Shetland. A horse on the yard gives great snoggy kisses usually with his wet, mucky and extremely awesome moustache. Another is a serious licker, big tongue is slapped across your face without warning!

I’ve had 2 super cuddly and fussy horses. Fig in particular adored people. Rooni is quite the opposite. Not interested in being petted and doesn’t really tolerate it. He would rather play tag in the field and that’s about it.

My mare will tolerate me and my shenanigans, but she's not a particularly cuddly/touchy-feely sort. Not the closed off/shut down type, I've owned that sort in the past. She just doesn't particularly enjoy or relish being fussed and fiddled with and will (politely) let me know if I'm brushing too hard/the wrong way/the wrong brush on the wrong area etc. When she gets a visit from a professional that requires a bit of touching, poking and prodding from someone that isn't me (like the osteopath or the saddle fitter), she stands there with a face like thunder the entire time 😂
It's taken me a while to adjust to, as I've previously had horses that either were so closed off they didn't give you much indication either way, or really cuddly ones that relished every bit of attention you could lavish on them.

Still, she comes to call and always greets me with plenty of excited chuffing and wuffling, so can't complain! :D

Ferdi was, he was about 18hh and would reach his head over your shoulder and hook you into his chest for proper cuddles. Would stand for hours with his head in your arms. He was like a giant labrador, adored humans

My others were all friendly and loved attention, but not in the same way.
