Is your yard basic or pristine ?? I'm scared of moving

Just gone from falling down to pristine, I'm not naturally tidy but I love it. Everything has a place, is easy to find and everyone knows what is their responsibility...keeping the yard clean is not left to a few people while everyone else leaves stuff everywhere. Tbh old yard was bordering on dangerous at times

The yard I am at is middle ground, in fact nobody is really there much and nobody cares (unless it was really bad)- however my banks could be measured with a spirit leveler and there is not a piece of hay out of place around my stable and store room :D I can hardly type for the mess in my room but my stable is immaculate ;). It wouldnt matter if it wasnt tidy but I don't have to stress over it, I just like it that way.

Sounds like the new yard will suit your needs much better. You could always use all the driving time you will be saving to have a good clean up every few days ;)

seriosly though, this yard sounds more suitable and provided they are well cared for horses really don't mind if things are scruffy to the human eye as long as they are safe. Good luck!

Yard I am on is pristine but not to the point where you are worried about making mess :) In my experience pristine yards are usually places where my horse has been unhappy, but I have got lucky with this one. Has fantastic facilities but the owners are precious over anything and a horse can still be a horse and make a bit of mess :)

Our yard is basic, no one in charge, we all do our own thing. Its scruffy but we can treat it as our own place and no one moans. We are all fairly tidy but not OCD! It looks dreadful now because of the weather and wind and everyone at work during the day but in the summer its beautiful

Go for it N :)

The yard I am on isn't pristine but the horses are well fed and looked after, we have excellent hacking and facilities (indoor school, outdoor school, all weather surface hacking and cross country course) OK the indoor school is small but its an indoor school so no loss of fitness over the winter months. She is on part livery and the care is basic but I can confidently not go the yard one evening and know she will have been fed and looked after. We had heated water drinkers put in last winter which are an absolutely godsend - no more frozen pipes :)
