Thank you , Dobiegirl, after Is lost her pups, her breeder was speaking online and was told that the most probable cause is lack of oestrogen, the bitch has enough to get pregnant and to carry pups to about 7 weeks, but not enough to get them to 9 weeks. These people had the bitches injected twice (I think) with oestrogen and they produced healthy litters.
Off back to the vet tom to get some more galastop for Isabel :-(
Just been talking to my friend, Isabels breeder, she suggested getting her spayed sooner rather than later, instead of having a litter off her next season.
Such a difficult desicion to make.....Isabel was the main reason we bought Ronny in from America, because we thought it would be a great match.
I will see what the vet says tomorrow, and then decide :-(
Just an update.....we have made the very difficult desicion to have Isabel spayed :-(
Totally gutted, but I know it's the best thing for her.
This time tomorrow it will all be done :-(
Aw I'm so sorry, I can imagine how hard a decision that was, but as you say the best for her. I hope she isn't too sore, if she is anything like Evie was your problem will be keeping her quiet.
For some inexplicable reason, there are those bitches, who for a variety of reasons, are unable to carry until full term.
The danger with assisting or interfering (however we view it), is that if we assist, then we are likely to support more puppies with the very same flaw.
Tough though it is, you've made the right decision, I'm sure.
