ISH Breeding- anyone know much?

I've had some issues with mine and wondered what/if anyone can tell me about his breeding. I know nothing about sports horse bloodlines but have been told he's well bred.

He's by Master Imp (TB) out of Coevers Legend (ISH)
Bred in Ireland 2010 In Ballynahinch, Co Down (A Henry Graham)

Anyone know horses with this breeding? What are they like?

Good or bad... any known medical/behavioural issues would be interesting or just stories of yours again, good or bad.

I have a Master Imp lad, he is a big eejit! Big, chunky bay fella - 17hh. Have had a fairly significant issue, injury rather than anything chronic (tendon injury). He is brilliant though and I’d have another in a heartbeat. He isn’t the bravest soul but he will work with you and is generally fairly willing and level headed, moves nicely for a big solid guy. Super jumper, although we’ve opted not to do that due to previous tendon injury.

I also live in Ballynahinch but that’s purely coincidental 😂

Do you have a photo?
Small world! Is the guy who bred mine a known breeder/stud so you know?

I’ve searched and read a few other master Imp threads on here and it’s safe to say the behaviour bits I’m wondering about are probably not inherited!

I don’t know of the guy myself but I’m fairly new to the area. I think @Equi might be from this part of the world?! So she might know possibly!

Master imp as youve seen hasnt the best reputation. Coevers legend is by King of diamonds and Ben purple. Both throw great SJers. So if you can ride him, i bet he jumps

ETA my old girl had King of diamonds and ben purple, her stock crossed with blood certainly can jump. id love another with Ben purple lines, great old lines

He’s gorgeous! They look absolutely nothing like each other though 😂

Master Imp does sound like he was a character! Mines actually very quiet to ride usually, he has almost caught me out a few times with a very sharp whip round and can be a bit on his toes leaving home at the moment (for all of about 10 minutes!) but other than that he’s really good ridden wise.

I believe the full brother was sold last year, he was advertised at least, although the advert is long gone but a link to it remains.
I may drop the old owner a message though just to see what hers was like.

I believe mine would have been a serious competition prospect, he was with a pro when he was younger.
I have him because he is a bit old and knackered 😬

His serious jump was displayed when the vets wanted him trotted over a raised pole a few weeks ago 😳

That's only my opinion.
I had one in for schooling to sell for owner and she was sold afterwards for meat money, nobody wanted her.

ASBMO if you google the dam name then you can often pick up siblings. For instance google Ladys Mountain Star and you can see:
Maternal sibling (4yo filly) went through Gorsebridge in 2022 for 7.1k, seems to have sold to UK. Insta shows her hunting.
 
I have one out of a mare by Master Imp, but am told he’s very much MI type physically. He’s big, rangy, and weak, so I wonder if that’s why they can seem a bit ‘quirky’. Took a long time for him to find his balance, very forward going so he used to charge about and worry himself.

Anyway, he’s great now, love him!

That’s what mine was like too - he looked like thoroughbred as a 6yo, now he’s like a brick s**thouse 😂
 
It can be really hard to find information about the horses that are born in 2009/2010 because of the lack of social media and most horses are dead by now . I can’t find any photos of my mares dam even though she has a brilliant composition record.
 
Thanks for posting about this. I’ve discovered that my ISH had one full sibling, although she’s on the register as unnamed and was born in 2007, so that’s a dead end. His sire was a full TB and seems to have lots of ISH offspring, although I suspect most will be long gone as most seem to have been born during the 90s.
