They werent kidding when they said she had had a few teeth out today - she has had loads

All her incisors (upper and lower) between her canines, all the incisors between her canines and pre-molars on her lower jaw, all the incisors between her canines and pre-molars on her upper right jaw.

Not surprisingly vet said soft food for a few days - so I tenderly gave her some chicken tonight. Whereupon she squeaked and squeaked until I gave up and also gave her her usual all-in-one, which she crunched with huge enjoyment

My dog feels no pain

Ahh how old is she? We've got a collie and I totally agree about some dogs not feeling pain! He takes great delight bouncing of car tyres etc and still goes back for more!!

Sounds like she's on the mend, good luck

Too right Lou, my mum said tonight that Islay's personality will start to come out now she is an 'only dog' - well, dont think she will be wrong there

We now have the 'still squeaking but not sure why' routine - even went for a walk around the block to see if she needed to go, but maybe wouldnt in the garden, I must be mad as it is RAINING

MrAndMrs - she is five now, an ex-racing greyhound who I got from Greyhound Rescue West of England in May

Very very sadly I lost my lurcher Talisker last Thursday, so Islay and I are overdosing on each others company at the moment

When my Smooth Collie had her uterus removed she was very pleased with the vet's advice about careful to no exercise.

But when my first Norwegian Buhund had her uterus removed a year or so previous, first time it was okay to pee in the flowerbed just outside the house, second time outside I got a feeling she wanted to go to Oslo before agreeing to pee (very roughly estimated 250 km away, as the crow flies!!)
Of course I fulfilled her demands the best I could, we didn't get to Oslo, but she got her usual walk, though mostly viewed from above lying in a pram, when she wanted to smell something she sat up, I lifted her down, when she was finished she walked back to the pram for me to lift her back up...

ETS I'm sure you wouldn't have obeyed Islay's demand if it had been really harmful for her.

Sounds like she's obviously feeling fine. Maybe the teeth were giving her some pain and she is glad to be rid of them. Your mum is right about her personality coming out now. Buffy was always totally in her mums shadow and didn't appear to have much personality, she really fell apart when her mum was put to sleep (we were a good pair

) but she is a different dog now. Maybe still not the brightest GSD I have ever owned but definitely has a lot more about her.

Fl - I love the image of you and your Buhund and a pram

Teeth seem easy to deal with compared to that

MM - the teeth must have been hurting her poor girl, so I am glad she is rid of them all. She was a lot more tender this morning as the painkillers had worn off, but luckily I had a couple of tins of Butchers Tripe handy, so she wolfed one of those down
