well, was an interesting day

Was riding a horse for my boss, who is reknown for stopping, and hates dressage, as in will not work in an outline, have only ever hacked her before, so was a little nervous as to what to expect.

Early start, and got there in plenty of time, warmed up for the dressage, and the mare really worked, something click and was so much better than my one previous schooling attempt with her, went in to do test, and she was going really nicely for the first couple of movements, and then she had had enough and reverted back to her old self

was quite amusing to watch i think, but very annoying to ride, so score was quite awful. But boss said was the best she has seen her go (when we were waming up) so thats something.

Warmed up for the sj, and we were jumping everything with feet to spare, had an unlucky pole down on the last, but otherwise was great, again, my boss was really pleased, and thought we did great (although I was really annoyed about the last jump)

and then onto the xc, now she is aparently always a bit funny xc, but she flew the first 2, and put in a really dirty stop at no.3, but flew it second time, jumped the water beautifully, wheich was causing quite a few problems so we were really pleased with that, and then turning away from home we had a dvery nappy hestitation at the ditch, but otherwise flew round, nearly out jumped me on the 3rd from last, so was sort of a good round for her I suppose, as she is a complete madam. My boss kept saying how chuffed she was with us, and how considering all I have ever done is hack her, how well she thought she went, (although we discovered later we had missed part B of combination, wasnt marked very well, and my friend did the exact same thing as we had walked the course together

, but not to bothered about that)

so all in all an ok day, will hopefully get a chance to take her out again, and maybe this time with some proper schooling first

Doesnt sound a bad day at all.
Well done for getting round a very difficult horse by the sounds of it.

Do you think you will get to compete this mare again?

hopefully, as my boss was really impressed, so we will see, now i have worked out her buttons on the flat, and I know she has about a 40 minute limit before she has a wobbly, i think we might even scrape a ok dressage next time

both stops were away from home, so again, will remember next time
