Rosie went early today and came second in her section and everyone's thrilled to bits. Then she went and raced at Ampton point to point (4th and a pulled up) but she won the East Anglian jockey of the month award, wooohooo

A pretty good day then?

Blimey, she's a bit of a star isn't she?! Also plenty of stamina

. Well done her!

Poplar Park I think, then possibly Gt Witchingham JRN but it clashes with the Essex point to point and they're too far apart to do both. Don't know what she'll do (I'm just a bystander really, but very proud of her)

Rosie is my 16 year old grandaughter. She events her own 15.2 appaloosa - BB (was her 12th birthday present and she's brought him on herself). The pointers are owned by her other Grandad (not my OH) and are regularly hunted by various members of the family.

We had a good day!! BBs - don't know who you were texting - didn't reach me - I will e-mail you my number.

Dressage - good by Lexi's normal standards, a couple of tense moments and she was struggling to find a rhythm in the deep going (KXM diagonal was like a swamp!!) but overall pleasing at 39.5. Those of you who know Lex - anything below 40 is generally a very pleasing outcome anyway.

SJ - the collecting ring was a nightmare so we didn't do much. The ground hadn't been rolled for ages before we went so the course was a bit of a nightmare too. Lex jumped nicely until 1 fence from home - an oxer with a VERY deep, muddy take-off. Idiot rider saw a big stride and flung her into it - obviously wasn't going to happen out of mud like that so we had it down - my fault completely, absolutely nothing to do with Lex.

XC - the ground was much better than the SJ. Definitely a stiff course for a PN but Lex was amazing!! Absolutely flew round, I wasn't pushing at all, but she didn't seem to have any real problems with the mud and ended up with one of the fastest rounds of the day.

Such a clever girl!!

Now has a week to recover before Oasby on Friday (fingers crossed for the ground).

YAY!
I was so pleased for you guys. COme a long way since last spring eh?

Blasted mobile.

I was shocked to see you haev a fence down, after all those brilliant DC this winter...it just goes to show doesnt it, ruddy riders lol
Does sound a stiff xc, and so Lex will be upgrading soon?

Well done hunny - how was YRC
Vx

Have e-mailed you about the YRC (which was fantastic!!) and sent you my mobile number.

Lex will be upgrading to Novice at Goring all being well (as long as we don't have a total disaster at Oasby on Friday).

That oxer had something odd about it. Willough had a really strange jump at it, tucked all her landing gear right up and hovered, then put everything down, carried on and cleared the planks.

I think it was just that the oxer seemed much bigger than anything else. I took a flyer at it on Frazer - but he's a hunter so he didn't mind that at all! - but was a bit more restrained on Ross, who would have loved the opportunity to hurl himself over it at breakneck speed.

Don't think it was the size of the oxer that finished us off, think it was the fact that I asked her for a massive flyer which to be honest was never going to happen in all that mud. Crashed right through it, bless her.
