isnt it a bit early for my hairy beast to be molting

Mine! He's unclipped tb and I'm in Northumberland. Noticed a lot of small flies around too, generally drowned in my cuppa when I take one out with me to the horses.

yes mine is also a cobxtb. couldnt believe how much hair came away today. yet nothing came out yesterday. i have moved all my fencing over today as there field is trashed so given them a fresh piece. hoping the damaged side will repair itself asap. im struggling for grazing so i try to rest them as much as possible wasnt going to move them over till spring. but the grass seems to be growing now so hopefully it wil be good for spring summer time

looks like some of us are going to have some cold horses lol suppose to be freezing temps for 3 weeks in 1 weeks time according to the paper (sun)

Kal's coat is coming out in handfuls now . . . he's not clipped.

P

P.S. He's a Polish sporthorse - high percentage of thoroughbred . . .

My hairy one has been moulting in handfulls for at least a week now and the finer coated one was moulting when I groomed last night, it's just harder to see as the hairs are smaller

do you all think its a lot earlier this year im sure it was march april last yr whe my old welsh sec a started. im worried now weather or not to buy my cob colt 9months old a rug. i havnt had him rugged as he is very hairy and tends to sweat as it is. have to see how cold it actualy gets and how much hair he still has left. im sure he will only shed what hair isnt needed.
