When you hear about past horses or ponies that you knew.
Friend of Mossburn's came up last week and she took Rosie, a little pony we got from a lab place in Edinburgh i think. she was in a terrible state. she'd been made to have 9 foals in 9 years!
all she'd seen of humans was them coming into her small stable and taking away every one of her babies within a few days and she never got it back
she was so young but understandably had absolutely no trust in humans! in her time at Mossburn we got her so you were able to get within a few feet of her but never would she let you touch her and she had a permanent headcollar.
Now this woman i haven't seen since she took Rosie about 1 and a half years ago but it was so great to hear about Rosie
Woman says she's doing so well, has put all her weight back on and just the other day she actually came forward for a groom when her other horse was getting groomed!
that is so great to hear for me! she still has her headcollar on but hopefully she'll gain more trust and have it off soon!
sorry for all that, i was just so happy to hear how well she's doing. she was so traumatised when she came to Mossburn and it's stories like hers that make me realise what i do is worthiwhile!
