Had a lady phone me up about my advert to find a sharer, she only lives 2 mins down the road.

She is a novice, wants to make sure herself and her 9yo daughter can look after a horse before they buy their own.

She wants to come 7 days a week, in the morning before work (5am)

and in the evening after work.

Isn't this more like a full-loan but to stay on present yard?

sounds it to me, explain that you want to do some of the days too and see if she's still interested, or put your feet up and ride when she's gone!!

Yes I'd say it sounds more like a full loan.

If that's not what you want then I'd just advise that there are only set days that you are looking for a sharer

If not maybe she has just misunderstood.

I would like to do them atleast 2 days a week myself.

If she did 5 days a week, does £30 sound ok?

I would be concerned about this pair. They have obviuosly not read you advert properly and cold be the sort that never listen.

Also, they dont seem to have a clue about looking after a horse. what on earth do they expect to do with the horse at 5am? Is your horse suitable for a 9 year old girl to look after and presumably ride?

Also, beware that she is only interested in learning stable management from you and then 2 months later she has bought her own horse and left you in the run-up to winter without a sharer.

at least they are keen , we hear so many gripes about none committed sharers!

if they sound sensible & trust worthy i'd suggested discussing further with them , point out that 2x daily 7 days pw is a big commitment & that you don't want to overface them & throw them in at the deep end , maybe suggest starting with say 3 days per week & see how it goes?

Its what I do with my Share Mare (except for the 5am bit - there is only one 5 o'clock in the day as far as i'm concerned!). I see her virtually every day, check her over, etc. i am not her loaner, i only share her, but i think I've proved over the months that I am pretty committed to her, despite all her little quirks and foibles...

On one hand, i think its good that they want to get so involved, but I agree with the poster who suggested that these might be the sort of people who don't really listen. i am assuming you stated the number of days you were offering in yuor advert? If you said something along the lines of "days negotiable", though, they might have assumed that you meant number of days rather than which days, in which caseyou do need to get back in touch and let them know that you were thinking of x days per week, rather than 7 days.
