Has anyone trained with her? I was just wondering what she is like. Ive got two BYRDs sessions booked with her - one on 8th September and one on 6th October.

Lucky you

... I really do think they should have Old BYRDs as I am sure some of us would like lessons too!!! Tehe!!!

I like the way she rides but unsure of her teaching principles etc...

I had lessons with her some years ago before she moved to Germany. Apparently her teaching has changed a lot since then. The biggest thing i remember was that i could never hear her!! I spent the whole lesson saying 'pardon', but then my hearing isnt really A1. I prefer Adam Kemp and Robert Pickles who i train with now.

Funny you should say that as I was going to reply that she was good but very, very quiet!
If you're a lazy rider that needs motivating, (like me

), possibly not the best, but her training principles are sound.

It will be interesting to see if she is more 'germanic' now!

They do - you can do Senior Training!! Have a look in the back of your BD Mag and it tells you all the Senior Training Dates, then below it you get all the BYRDs training dates.

hmm perhaps not the best for me as i need motivating too (shouting generally works well with me!) However im only doing it for some more bits to put on my CV - and i like going to different people every now and again!

I can't comment on what her teaching is like but when i was applying for a BD Apprenticeship i wrote to her and she wrote me a lovely handwritten letter back with some very helpful information. Its a lot more than some of the other people did, (they shall remain nameless!) so all else aside she is a conscientious person!

We had lessons from Isobelle before she went to Germany and found her to be an excellent trainer deply interested in helping you ande your horse improve. Yes she is quiet but we had no problems hearing her.
However just to go to someone to add them to your list on your cv will not impress anyone its what you get from the session that counts. I would suggest you attend one of her clinics and watch to see if her methods and aims are similar to yours. If they are then I would certainly give her a try but you should be looking for a trainer long term as there are no QUICK FIXES in this game and only change when they have taken you as far as they can or as a result of watching other trainers you feel a change would be beneficial to both you and your horse. Success does not come overnight unless you have hundreds of thousands of £'s to spare
Good Luck

CCJ's trainer has her and finds her excellent.
Her other trainer is Carl Hester and their methods work well together.
I would go and watch a few trainers until you find one you just click instantly with; unless you have that feeling of understanding exactly what they mean it takes far longer to improve.
Some people have it, some don't.. I used to find anyone who shouted at me made me worse.. By the same token I went on Baron von Blixen Fineckes' courses and found him incredibly hard to follow, yet others thought he was great!
I now realise the others were further on in their training than me at that time and he taught to their level and just expected me to catch up as best I could..
I found someone who taught at a lower level and found I could progress steadily, so I really think it's a question of keep watching any visiting trainer until you find your personal one..

Er, for your information im not stupid! What an odd comment to make! I already have a permenant trainer - Andrew Gould - and im also starting training with Emile Faure. Ive competed at Medium Level, won at the Nationals and i can assure you im not looking for a 'quick' fix

Im taking my young horse out as much as possible as its very good for him and me to go to diferent people at this stage in our training. I want to start BYRDs with him as both my trainer and i know he will go to GP level and the more i can do with him at this stage the better. ive always wanted to do BYRDs Training but have never had a horse good enough to take me all the way. Now i do i want to get into it more, especially over the winter. i hope this is ok with you???

Next time you want to make nasty comments find out some background information first.

Sorry I did not comment to be nasty but to be constructive taking into account the information you gave and your comment " However im only doing it to have some more bits to put on my cv "

Yes i am doing it to add to my horsey CV as ive always wanted to do BYRDs, hence im now doing BYRDs to add it to my CV and because its always something ive wanted to do. I love training and i love competing - its what i want to do professionaly in the end. Like i said i have a permenant trainer, but i want to get involved with BYRDs as its a great oportunity now that i finally have a horse good enough.

FinnMcCloud...Nope thats true!, I want someone like Carl, Damien Hallam, Anky, Jenni Lorriston-Clarke etc... !!! That would be nice please!

Nope!! Not at all!! I would probably be tooo embarrassed to ride in front of them
