Isolation for horse coming from EU country

Hopefully bringing our new boy home next month from France. He will be 5* vetted and vaccinated etc before he leaves there.



iv asked livery owner regarding isolation and she said she will speak to her vet.



but what will it look like?

I imported from Denmark and it was just the standard two weeks isolation in a field and then a strangles test. She had two other ponies for company so that was nice.

Just usual new horse on the yard precaution.

All new horses on my yard regardless of where they come from do 3 weeks isolation. We have a stable in a small paddock and have foot baths, hand gel etc at the entrance. During the isolation period they are wormed and have regular temperature checks. Owners don't go near other horses or stables and staff wear overalls when mucking out etc.
