I have a 5 yo ex racer, she was trained to race but never raced, I got her may 2009 as a 3 yo and shes done pretty much nothing since. I had a bad fall off her in July 2009 and i've just bought her down to where i work to work with her and get her to her full potential. She had a jockey for a few months just before christmas. However now i've got her, shes picked up bad habits, which i can resolve in time (mainly lunging habits) but I got her last night and I don't know whether its because I was nervous (after having my bad fall last time it was playing in my mind) but on the left rein in walk she kept swishing her tail and turning around to bite me. I'm going to do some long reining with her and put her in the solarium daily and build on the riding.
Do you have any opinions which could help me? I wouldn't be as concerned if I hadn't hurt my self badly last time I rode her properly, shes had time to mature and she was very babyish, shes lunges happily and works round on the lunge, never long reined her but going to soon. She's good to hack etc, just dont want to push her until I've tried solving this problem.
Thanks.
