To me it looks as if the on the left is thinking 'If I stay frozen in this spot, maybe I'll get a tasty reward, but please oh please hurry up - my feet are slipping on this squeaky clean floor, I'm getting anxious, if I move before given the command to do so, I won't get any of the delicious smelling meaty cake, hurry up with those photos please! Haven't you got enough pics of us already?'
Middle dog: "Just one quick look. Nobody will notice. Quick, look to the front again. Just another peek... Pfft, is that it? I was expecting a much larger treat after all this 'sit and stay' work and posing for yet more photos. Is that mine, mine, all mine, or do we all have to share it? Just another quick look to make sure it's still there...'
Dog on the right: "Butter wouldn't melt! See this obedient look that I'm giving you? Does that count for an extra slice because I'm really sweet? Plus I've been told I'm getting all the Boneo's on the edge of the cake because I've got spots where the other doggies haven't got any!'

Awww Happy (bit belated now) Birthday!! Fabulous picture.
Aren't you a good mum for making a cake. My poor souls get nowt on their birthdays, other than their normal dinner............I don't starve them especially for the occasion
