Nipped how to take Robins hay out. There were a couple of poos so they came out. Then a wet spot so that came out. Then I had to sweep the shavings up. So might as well just sweep the yard to the muck heap as it was messy. Then there was some strands of hay in water so best I redo that. Then better just wash the wheelbarrow out. Quick visit didn’t happen!!

I just skipped mine out but don't do water as auto drinkers, my mare will lie in her poo if i leave it where she sleeps or anywhere

I am the same, used to pop out in dressing gown and slippers for a 'last check' only to find I was doing a full service.

Happy nights in front of the TV is dressing gown are a thing of the past, have to stay fully dressed as I now admit that I LIKE to to droppings, hay, water, rugs, tidy etc some time between 8pm and 9pm. It is useful for Rigsby as he is on a constant diet so can have a full net last thing (as well as one at 6am, 12.00, 4pm...).

Hay and fleecy dressing gown don't mix but at least I learned my lesson.

You're all mad! Mine come in at 6 most nights (unless I have a late lesson) and that's it until 6 the next morning. YO's husband comes home from his milking job at about 10pm and does a walk past all the stables for a quick check but they don't get any extras. I do get the yard sweeping thing though. Especially if I'm emptying water buckets, it seems a shame to waste that water going down the drain when it could help to get the yard lovely and clean.

I used to give Fatty his last soaked net just before I went to bed but also skipped out and checked water. It made a huge difference to how long it took to muck out in the morning and was well worth the effort.

I made the dressing gown / carrying hay mistake yesterday.

If you have a long coat it will go over a dressing gown nicely. (I was just too lazy yesterday)

Nah, lol! Yard gets swept once every six weeks when my farrier shames me into sweeping it, lol!
