It appears from BE entries that its not very elite to be elite

I have been keeping a quiet eye on the BE entries.

Novice horses being entered in the Novice class at Aston when its designed for a horse who wants a quieter start. A novice horse who has no 3* qualifications for a British rider is not going to the Europeans or Olympics. I do appreciate that one starting the season for a Brazillian rider though could make it to the Olympics with the right headwind.

It appears if you have a Kiwi passport you qualify as elite even if you have only really done 3* and 1 x 4*L.

That to be elite is not that elite with riders I am pretty surprised falling into the list.

Does it not apply that 'professional' i.e. those who produce horses for a living - which could be anyone who buys/sells or is producing a novice horse for sale -so they would count?

I’m also interested to see whether the Prices will run given they’ve currently in Spain and BE has adopted the BS rules re EHV...

The Price's have been very open about their procedures and are quarantining the horses from Spain at a separate yard. I think they have 35 - 40 horses and 15 have been in Spain, so very likely they will have horses running that don't need to quarantine.

I've seen Joseph Stockdale also post about having a separate yard to quarantine but I'm sure there are many returning that are not so fortunate!

They had to be open given what was around on Facebook. Last few weeks have shown what it means to be a professional in the industry when it comes to open honest practice.
