It dawned on me today - I have trained my grey to be...

... an RDA pony.

Of course she had the right temperament to begin with but she was completely wonderful today.

Some will remember that I was wondering which horse to take to my local show. I finally decided to take the grey and it really was the right choice as I really struggled and she behaved perfectly. Her first ever show, more noisy traffic than she's ever seen before, other new stuff (donkeys, people rolling around in those big, blow up 'hamster' balls, generator, wooden bridge to walk over etc...) and she took it all in her stride.

She's ace. :D

She is - I could hardly walk by the end and she just kept to my pace. I probably could have hopped on and hacked home, but I had no hat and I'd polished her a lot, so that she was quite slippy. ;) So we tootled along.

In fact I think we did the slowest in-hand trot ever in the ring. I could easily have found someone else to show her for me, but it's not the same as doing yourself. :)

Clever lady :D So when are you dropping her off at the local riding school?
Is she the one in your sig?

Noooooooo - they can't have her!

Yes she's the one in my sig, although she was only a yearling in those photos.

She will do the 'snort and blow' but she somehow knows when it's the right time and when it's the wrong time to do so.

I'll download my photos tomorrow - if there's a good one I'll post it. :)

Here's my mad arab :p :) (kindly held by my non-horsey Dad).

Very nice (and clean...??? :p), she certainly has a lot of presence.

Though I do think it is a bit unfair to make your non-horsey dad hold onto such a wild beast.

Luckily he likes her, but yes, I'm lucky that he wasn't trampled to death! ;)

I gave her a bath on friday evening and turned her out with strict instructions to not roll. I was very pleased yesterday morning when i went to catch her (with some food to make things go smoothly, as her main fault is that she can be a s*d to catch) that she was still pretty clean. Cowboy magic and a good brush was all that was needed.

Lovely :D I really like the last headshot.

Is it wrong that I want a headstall like that for Fergs? :shame:
