It gets worse I get so angry sometimes

I talked someone out of buying a yearling recently. Nervous novice, seller had convinced them that the youngster would be ready to ride and jump at two, if started now...

They bought a very nice horse btw, and both are doing well :)
 
I most certainly wouldn't agree with what theyr doing, way way too young- and why use a pessoa on such a baby? BUT in other countries, and racing yards, they back yearlings. And at the end of the day its THEIR horse. I would just let them get on with it- there are far worse cases of cruelty going on at the moment, and the charities/welfare officers have enough serious cases on their plates to keep them busy full-time.
Montanna,regarding the foal in the stable, my mare sadly died while foaling, I had no turnout for a vulnerable flighty baby. I hand-reared the foal (tho I did take on another orphan to keep her company) keeping both in a 12x12 stable for the first 12 months of their lives.Just leading them each day when they were old enough. They never came to any harm and are now 7yrs and performing well in show jumping.

Nope, still out in the field with a bunch of others, muddy and happy, for now at least. The seller has decided to run them on until this summer and then do some in hand showing to increase their prices. It's better than it might have been.

I am sad to sat I dont think there is much I can do as effectively it is non of my business they are not employing me I am there for another yard client, I only see them from time to time and I dont usually offer my opinion unless asked for it in real life It just makes me so sad for the little chap. He seems very babyish out in the field on his own plot he has a buck and kick and play so doesnt seem too shut down yet. He comes in at night and I doubt anyone could disabuse these people of their actions. I tried once before and got my head bitten off although on that occasion they had asked for my input
Technically as he is a rounded plump individual I would guess no one would care about his mental welfare and physical developement
