"It goes in it, so I ride in it"

I've had worse experiences using a saddle fitter than fitting a saddle myself! I agree with the OP, if the horse goes well and the saddle appears to fit, then I go with it. I've had saddlers come out and take a look at horses in the past and fit a saddle that's cost over £1000 and it just doesn't fit! I've had saddlers look at horses and give advice, had a second opinion out and say something completely different. Who do you trust? Even our most recommended local saddler I've heard countless complaints about, same number of complaints as recommendations! Where I used to work, we were given a saddle and expected to pad it to fit every horse we rode, never had an issue. I trust my own judgement now, only have reflocking done occasionally to my specific instruction.
