Just to say, after a few 'extra days of long lining lessons', (on older experienced horses) I did it today, on my own and did it well! So happy.
Normally I get in a muddle with the lines, fustrated that what I want doesn't happen - due to me giving mixed messaged to the poor horse!
Today I knew I was clear, kept my lines neat, I got what I wanted.
I long lined my filly!! (Blind leading the blind?!) Was totally brilliant. Filly put in a few bucks for good measure, and not one line got tangled once. We long lined on a circle, we changed direction and we long lined AWAY from mare and old horse, and turned, walked calmly back, and stood still.
Just had to share.. feel very proud of myself and my filly.
