It must run in the family - Linda Parelli

I can't even work out what the hell she is trying to make the horse do so I'm not surprised the horse can't. I haven't really paid attention to the ongoing Parelli argument, but this just seems to be a woman picking on an animal. I guess she is trying to make the horse do something - but I can't work it out so the horse must just think its getting its head yanked about for the sake of it, and in my book that's cruel and unnecessary. Shame on them.

Totally disgusting behavior towards a Horse :(.

I have only come across a small amount of Parelli in real life and instead of love and trust it it came across as the Horse being forced to comply in the hope it didn't get hit with a level 4 'reminder'.

Now I know going up the scales is a highly useful and acceptable approach if used correctly. That It in my experience helps the Horse know what it asked with very little signal because it knows the routine thus = lightness. However Linda seems to be missing the important point that is the Horse actually understanding what on earth you mean. It's no good just shouting louder :(.

Yep, still makes me feel sick. I'm a human and I didn't understand what she wanted the horse to do :mad::mad:

Lost the respect I had for Parelli (and I didn't care about the money making side, etc. etc., it's a free market).

We have a girl on our yard that is leve 3 Parelli to watch her it is very relaxed & you can see the horse enjoying it. until wtching her I was not an beliver in any NH just good horsemanship but watching this video & seeing the confusion on the horses kface as she yanked at the rope I will be reconsidering my ideas on this style of horsemanship. It really does show the difference in how people interpret different styles of handling though.

This makes me so furious. The poor horse is clearly confused and hasn't a clue what she asking. It just getting whacked and its head yanked about. Call this Parelli - Garbage more like. Can't believe people are actually taken in by this tripe

Yep, we had a woman at my old yard who does parelli, and she never did anything like this to a horse but the way she did things wouldnt be how i would do it!

I dont practise NH but im open to Monty roberts techniques :)

Just praise the good behaviour - ignore the bad .. simples :D

do you not know this is called "hit your horse in the face and call it love". by linda parelli

discusting..... id love to smack her in the face.

I don't normally respond to posts like this but I just though this was a bit surreal. So she socks the horse because he 'looked' in a different direction. Hmmm, charming...not exactly horsemanship, the horse is obviously confused and would no doubt be getting more agitated and is in no way putting together him looking over there and getting beaten up.
