Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts & wishes, it has really helped.

They went first thing this morning, side by side, quickly & quietly. Even my lovely friend (the vet) cried when she'd done them, they were such characters...
I feel the usual relief that they're now pain free but I am really, really going to miss them...
 
Hope you're ok? You've done the right thing for both of your faithful friends. They are now at peace and pain free, and now it's time to look after yourself and treasure your fond memories.

this made me cry again as i only lost mine under 4 weeks ago. doing the right thing for them is so hard on us. big hugs for you and everone who has had to go through this...
