My life this month has been crappy to say the least and its just gotten worse. Today it hit the pits (if thats possible) with finding Japaloup ill this morning. Shes got a temp of 38.8 is really depressed and not eating much. The vet came out and found her spleen enlarged and her bladder so full of pee he had to insert a catheter to empty her as shes got no urge to do it for herself. I didnt know it was possible to contain so much piddle in one bladder, it was incredible how much gushed out! Her tail is also paralised which doesnt look good as its one of the symptoms of EHV-1. Hes taken blood and is testing for various things including piroplasmosis which is transmitted by ticks

. Im so worried for her and for the other oldies who are all in close contact with her. Poor Japi, she looks awful. Will get the test results tomorrow so please, please keep your fingers crossed for her. How will I tell the owners if something nasty and contagious is going on? I feel like disappearing down a hole somewhere. Mairi.

I know just how you feel, I feel like totaly sh!t.... sleep is like the devil teasing me, I can't not rowl with every body with stress I guess. I feel hopelss at not being able to help my boy. Not for a moment can I forget about him even in sleep attempts. If I let the vets and bill payers have there way I'm about to lose every thing I gambled on. Not two weeks since I was on the BSJA site starting to think about regersting Dermot now I'm looking on cremation website sites. I can't afford to buy anouther horse if the worse happens, not at with the thousand's I ow for surgory and £450 each day for over 40 drugs and constant vets and nurses to keep him alive. What more I cant let it out because if I do I won't stop and I have to be strong and keep a level head to make sure Dermot gets the right outcome and help him fight for the time being. My fingers are tightly crossed for your results and my grass sickness results I also get tomoorw...Phew.

*fingers crossed* Hope she's has a good and fast recovery, and it's not EVH.

If you don't mind me asking, what is EHV-1?
