while other half has been watching sport i have been reading through some of the posts and threads and it really is fascinating to see peoples differences in opinion especially when it comes to gadgets.
now i dabble in parelli and love it i can happily hack out in nothing but a string halter and rein and started my youngster in just that totally on my own just with time and patience and trust but yet some people hate this to.i now do both i can choose to ride in traditional tack with running martingale which if used properly only affects horse if it tries to put his head right up and hit you in face my horse does not do this but occasionally out hacking have been thankful for it.
it amazes me sometimes what people are horrified at like waving a rope at horse yet find some alternatives like bits chifneys or a good hard slap are fine.
i recently met a lady who thought working a horse was cruel ,racing was cruel, working a horse on the bit was cruel yet on wk ends having her horse done nothing but sit in field went out for a 3 1/2 hour hack trotting canter gallop on any ground her horse comes back shattered covered in sweat yet she just takes tack off and chucks out in field no wash nothing and to her that is perfectly acceptable what are your thoughts on this every one has there own opinion and believes they are right and on some level some are but i do think some people are to closed minded and blinkered by there own self believe

Lol yup, it's like the ultimate recycling point.

Today we have draw reins, weight management and Katie Price. All of which have been done a thousand times before, it's quite comical.

It is those people who cannot accept others opinions that are the problem.

I have disagreed or agreed with many things on here, I have been called all sorts, and goaded to get a response and it goes over my head and I remain nice and calm...

It's not the opinions you should be worried about, it's the people who cannot stand the fact someone might not agree with them....

yes was reading the draw rein ones lol i no its mad hey i really have to try and just overlook a lot of comments but it entertains me for a while i tend to get a lot of stick for working on a stud / sick lame and lazy yard in the tb racing industry but also worked in dressage and that no picnic either u have good and bad people and good and bad methods and the bits in between i can only do as we all can what is right for us and our animals that we own or are in our care as long as i do my very best for them all and they are healthy and happy or seek correct advice from vet etc my conscience is clear
