It seems i am off again.

Don't listen Rosie.

Some people just like to sulk. Leave them to it.

Everyone has been wonderful to me on here and when the chips were down only one went to ground then accused everyone of being a bad example... Very strange.

You will be glad to hear that my little terriers caught 2 rabbits and a mouse last night and still managed to return with fairly clean paws and not a spot of muck on their bellies! Not quite the quarry that most would be after but I was rather pleased with them! Just got to try and stop them from eyeing up the chooks!

we have 4 terriers here, a JRT who doesnt like any other dog, a beautiful Patterdale X, her daughter which is a white fluff ball and her dad which is a heinz 60+ but hell of a hunter and lives for catching bunnies. The others are supposed to be like him but they'd rather fight between themselves!! our chooks are quite safe with these as they have had lessons!

Oh blimey sounds mad like mine!

Made the very big mistake of keeping the pups from our gorgeous JRT bitch! The mother is still the worst of the lot and loves winding them all up! I think she is also going a bit daft in her old age as she will be lying down quietly then all of a sudden explode into a mad rush around jumping all over the place then flinging herself at you and going to sleep usually in the proximity of your head!

She also watches telly and loves anything with a "bad guy" (who she barks at) and horses that she also barks at as she wants to run around with them too! She gets so into some of the programmes!

Funny old stick that one. When we go out I used to take her with me and half way round she would get fed up with running along side so I would have to shuffle around on my big old boy lean down and hoik her up for a jolly! She has fantastic balance and would sit happily in front while we trotted home! So lucky the old boy is so good with hounds of all shapes and sizes as she has to jump quite a way even if I do flop over his back with my bottom in the air to reach her! She also makes him stop by standing in front of him and putting her paws up for a carry on his legs (she doesn't reach his knee!) and will trot underneeth him on the road as she doesn't like cars! She is smaller than his head! The old boy is so good with all of them. I really am terribly lucky.

My deaf one and the mother are ok with the chooks by the other two are not to be trusted, one woudl kill on impact and the other brought one back to me. Thankfully she was still clucking and hasn't suffered any ill effects from her capture! My chooks are all rescues and have ball of iron for want of a better phrase! You woudl think that they woudl be quiet little things but no they are bossy little britches! They often stick their head through the fence as the dogs are passing to have bit of a peck at them! More fool them!

I would slay my dogs if one of them touched a hair on either the chooks or son's ferret; it's not allowed and they know it; that goes for all the lurchers, the bassets, terriers and foxhound pups when we have them. They accept the rules and live side by side with no problems at all even though they are all brilliant hunters as well. I honestly don't see the pleasure of having any dog if you are on your guard all the time but that's probably just me. Been trying to find a pic of chooks and hounds all eating their dinner together but it's gone missing, will route it out when I can.

What is it about JRT's? They are just so gorgeous!

I am trying very hard to teach the two that chooks are off limits we have got as far as they sit and look at the gate longingly! The deaf one and the mother are fine with them they can all roam in the garden together but the other two - I just do not trust them.

As for ferrets I wouldn't dare let them come into contact! Ferrets are far too similar to rabbits to risk it!

One of them is darned good at foxes though. We used to have two that lerked around. Last time I saw either of them it was running off down the track with my little girl hanging on for grim death to its back leg. She came back 3 minutes later looking very smug. Amazing considering how much larger they are compared to her.

Aunti and Bentley are stunning!

*I want to steal Aunti*

My little thug is currently trying to catch a mouse that has gone behind my "boot shed" (one of those small plastic shed things from Homebase) that I keep by the back door... last time I checked she had managed to move it about 4 inches from the wall and its full of gas bottles and all sorts so very heavy!

Its amazing what a tenaious (sp) terrier can do!

Oh Simsar you are a star and much cleverer than me!!!

First is Bronnie after her first hunt!

Second is all the girls, I drank the local in my parents village dry of brandy (it was Christmas so I was in big trouble the next day) and decided that sleeping by the Rayburn with the girls was in order so grabbed some douvets and when I returned from the loo I found all four had made themselves comfortable thank you very much so I slept on the cold hard floor and woke feeling very tender!

Third up is Maggie (Mum of the pups) and Yoda (the deaf one) in their beloved cupboard! It was a boot cupboard then they decided that they wanted it and kept pulling out all the boots and dragging blankets in so we gave up and let them have it!

Fourth is Cass - sadly departed now but the look on her face is disgust that we dug her out before she got the rabbit!

Thank you Simsar - you are good at this stuff!

Apparently its ok to dish it out but not to receive-

Oh rosie, don't go. I'm not sure what's happened and can't find the thread from yesterday- has it been pulled? Anyway, I know I'm not one of the better known people here, but I have to say that I think the 'issues' certain people have with you that makes them post argumentative comments in response to your posts, regardless me what you write are being ridiculous. I'd much rather be on a yard with you than them! Don't go- just ignore the few that seem to enjoy causing trouble and bad feeling.

ah, you are lovely- that mansaid he was going to report me but didn't,(i refuse to use his name) so i am still here.TFC deleted the thread and sent me a nice pm- it wastotally ruined by the ones who disagreed with it, just as well really as it was getting ugly. Dont fret, i know the backstabbers!!!thanks for your post.
