Made quite a spectacular flying dismount this morning, and appear to be pretty much unscathed!

It was completely my fault, but the long and short is my pony threw me off. I imagine if anyone had witnessed it it must have been quite spectacular! She is only 14.2 but I felt I was flying for ages. I actually thought mid flight, that didnt hurt at all, but I hadnt hit the floor yet!

Ha ha, anyway I'm not sure how I landed, didnt bang my head or wind myself and got straight up pain free. Got a bit of something happening in my right knee (which I am desperately trying to keep from my other half so I hope I dont bruise too much!) but otherwise completely fine.

I might have something different to say as the day wears on, but 3 hours and a soak in the bath later. Im pretty OK! :D

Good to hear that you seem to be ok. I came off 4 weeks ago when my girl shied at a tractor and I didn't bounce! Got back up and on but then couldn't get off! OH helped me off and then I fainted for the first time in my life  Very, very bruised and couldn't sleep lying flat for 2 weeks. Still, seem to be on the mend and hope to get back on tomorrow :)

Poor you!

Its my first fall in years, but the last two were both painful! First one was X Country, came off and got trampled. Broke a few ribs, collar bone, took a hoof in the head and very badly brusied, then a couple of years later I came off my friends 11.2 pony onto very hard ground and snapped my cruciate ligament on my knee.

So I am very surprised how well I faired. I do have pain and a bruise coming up on my hand now though.

Did you go to the hospital? Sounds like you may have done some damage to your ribs. I hope your first ride goes well and gives you back some confidence xx

Thanks :) Compared to most people, I've had very few falls and been very lucky - but then I am only a happy hacker on my daughter's reject! No, I really don't like hospitals and we're about 30 miles from the nearest so I didn't go. Although it was very painful, there was no sharp pain - just like very, very stiff muscles - still tender now but much, much better. When I read of some of the accidents some people have with horses, like your's, I just find it amazing that we carry on riding
Hope it's dry tomorrow so I can get back on - I think my OH is more nervous than I am :)

im so glad to hear i am not the only one admitting to hitting the ground! and yes we must be crazy....well so my enduring husband tells me. he has been priviledged enough to witness every one of my un-intentional acrobatic displays!

My other half is anti horse and thinks they are dangerous, so if he knows my quiet sedate mare chucked me off and meant it, he would have something to say on the matter. Hard trying to hide my lameness though... :O)

awe that's rubbish having to hide it and miss out on some much needed sympathy from your other half!boo. i'm one of the lucky ones......my guy doesn't ride and doesn't do much with Buzz but he did go halves with buying him : )
my girlfriend's husband hates horses and hates the fact that her horse takes up so much time...it's a real bone of contention!
get some tiger balm rubbed in : )

Ha ha, some sympathy would be brilliant. I'd more likely get a its self inflicted so tough response!
Hey ho, I am limping but he hasnt noticed anyway! Ha ha

I am fine, few more aches and pains appearing as the day goes on but no major damage done.

Wish I could have "seen" it though! Felt impressive! xx

i usually get a running commentary/video of my mishaps. usually plenty of 'shorten your reins!' or 'tighten your reins!' coming from the ground lol. i like to critique my terrible riding so that i can learn or try and learn how not to do it again! :)

A good soak and maybe some ibuprofen just in case. And arnica if you get bruises. Will sort you out pronto :). Good to see you still bounce. I am creaky even just riding. Lord knows what a fall would do to me !

In the 30 minutes I was flying through the air (it really felt that long) I was thinking I was heading for an ambulance!
Must have landed just right to not wind myself or bang my head.

Oooooh I have some arnica, ill put some on my ouch bits. Thanks :D xx:D
