After the back issue and behavior issues were sorted schooling started to progress! I even let myself dream about getting to a show before the end of summer!

But all hopes and dreams have been shattered! poor boy came in with a very swollen hock. After xrays we discover he has a hairline fracture to the outside of his hock joint, luckily not too deep to effect the joint and as far as we know at the mo no fragments floating around.
More xrays in a few weeks.

I'm just so gutted what are the chances he's gonna make a full recovery and be sound!? Iv never known a horse have a fracture.

Gosh, what shocking bad luck. I've known full recoveries from some very mangled hocks - what did the vet say regarding prognosis?

That's very reassuring to know!
He's ment to have bandage changed in a week, more xrays In 4 weeks and 6-8 weeks box rest and he should be fine!
But he's not a horse that likes to be stabled so we have got fingers and toes crossed he doesn't do anything stupid to make it worse!
