I decided today would be the start of exercising H before work. I got up early, threw on some clothes and headed to the yard in plenty of time. When I got to his field I discovered one of the new horses had escaped from his field cue a mad dash to catch him and put him back where he belonged. Finally brought H in, gave him a quick brush and popped a cavesson on him. I think he knew I was pushed for time and took the pee massively when asked for canter on his weaker rein, usually I'd keep going until he was working properly but I had no idea how long that would take and am not a fan of starting battles I can't win so I went back to working him in trot and grumping that he'd got the better of me.
Gave him a quick brush off and he was back in his field bang on time. I should have headed back to the car there and then but with all the AM warnings I thought I'd take advantage of the daylight and quickly check his field. Found about 10 sycamore seeds so grabbed them and ran back to the car. Managed to get back to the house and run for my train, kind guard said he couldn't not let me buy a ticket as I'd run such a long way to see him.
So I've been sat at my desk feeling quite smug until I popped to the loo and realised I had mud splatterings all over my face, a unidentifiable horse mark (possibly slobber!) up my thigh and a crusty flake of horse willy in my hair.
Do you think it's a look that'll catch on?
