It was sleeting today when I was riding

Hey Gina - I'm in Blackburn so close. Yep - freezing this morning and looks like it is going to get worse this week

Is sunny and bright, but cold now! Feels like snow isn't far away.
 
It doesn't bode well does it - We got hit really hard (Aberdeenshire) last year. Not a good start. I always reckon it snows first on children in Need day which is a full calendar month away. GRRRRRR
 
Where i live we have had temps of -3 since the end of September , and we had our 1st snow fall 5 weeks ago ! this is normal for where i live .

i had to laugh this am when the weather forcaster on the news said ... oh and tommorrow will bring the 1st Frosts of the winter for Scotland !! i thought hell woman stop talking rubbish !!

i'm perthshire - we've only had one true frost so far and that was sat night - sun am i was off to feed at 7am and had to defrost my truck - it was a proper hard chip off the window frost and white grass etc - but nothing before or after - just low damp temps so feels really cold...today there's a bitter wind chill
 
to be fair, aberdeen has had something like a total of a week for it's summer, then a mini winter of a week, followed by a week of sutumn weather (finally) and now it's going distinctly winter-y again...

gonna be a long slogg this time around methinks :-(
 
Yep we had some too. We are Insch so also not to far from you. The Cairngorms have had snow too. Last year i swapped my horses for Skis. I found it easier than to ride on a very odd occasion. We are only a hour from the Lecht so we just go up there. If you cant beat it join it so they say! We are forecast a bit more snow tonight and tomorrow!
 
I have mixed feelings about the snow - hate the cold, wet and mess....

BUT

Having 4 barefoot horses we ride in the snow - at all paces - and we have a driving pony to pull the sledges!

We enjoy moonlit hacks out in the snow in the woods!

i have a fully shod horse and do the same :D love gallops in the snow :D and also have to ride at night to keep her fit - so its moon light all the way ;)

now i wonder if i could break her to pull a sledge.... *wonders off with cunning plan forming in mind*
 
Just flipping raining down south, but can't complain really, it was nice enough to bath the shetty this morning ready to clip tomorrow, now I just feel like a mean mummy!!!!!
 
Its got loads worse since this post I hail from Windsor Berkshire originally and wouldn't mind a swap right now. I need to get my field shelters moved tomorrow. Can't believe it. Long term forecast is pants. AAAAARGH.
