YAY! I had parelli training for my cob to be caught in the field and the lady said it was to do with him being scared for that split sec of grabbing his head collar so i have been walking around the back of him and every time he puts 2 eyes on me i chuck a bit of carrot for him and he comes closer and closer. Today decided to practise without carrot and he walked right up to me!!! yay light at the end of the tunnel!!

You have hit the nail on the head, he associates you with being treated and therefore is working for the treats, it's a repetitive behaviour that is rewarded. That's called basic training, not Parelli! (No matter what your 'trainer' says!)
