We have been back to the vets more times than i have had hot dinners (and in my 29 years of life, that's a lot!) each time coming way having spent nearly £60 and with a different set of pills and lotions. Each time they work and it semi clears up, but it comes back after a month or so.

I have thought about washing her in hibiscrub, can dogs have that?

Absolutely no flea's or lice on her, vet already taken skin scrapings. She also has had barley removed from her diet.

Any idea's? Vet just says its just another a skin infection (again).

Is there anything, i don't know, herbal or some kind of skin supplement i can give her?

She is a JRxCollie, bitch, about 5 years old.

My JR had the same problems and I thought it might be the diet, we regularly used to Frontline him for flea prevention and we too had gone down the vets route time and time again but nothing was ever decided on what it was, he had steroid jabs and all sorts of other tablets and tests.
So, I was toying with the idea anyway and changed my 3 dogs to the barf diet, he no longer nibbles and itches like mad along his back by his tail and none of them have any problem with fleas despite going down flea infested rabbit holes and I don't need to use frontline!
I did read that the barf diet helps stop dogs having fleas so whether it is that or not I cannot say for definate but it has only been since the dogs are on the barf diet I have noticed a significant difference, it doesn't happen over night but took a few months to sort itself out.
Their coats and teeth have never been so shiny or clean.

hi is it just near your dogs tail? does she scratch it a lot?? it could be something like iblocked anal glands bothering her as if she cant reach those they usually scratch at the skin aorund the tail in an attempt although this would lead to hair loss and rough skin as well- does she have that and has the vet checked her anals??
