itchy ears.

my JRT has recently started itching her ear alot. she does it ever so gently but sort of groans as shes itching them, today she tilted her head and started shaking it and ithcing her ears for around 10 minutes then settled. any ideas? will pop her to the vets if it continues but if there something i can do then i will. still suffering from the 600 pound vet bill from her dislocated leg haha

Have a look in the ear, if there is any dark/ reddish matter in there, it might be mites. It can be treated with drops from the vet but I have recently purchased a product called Thornit which is a powder & has been very succesful at clearing it. Or it could be a grass seed. Do a little inspection & see if you can find anything

ok will do. she is itching both ears so maybe its mites. shall i give them a clean with a wipe anyway.

Have a look & if needs be give the outer ear a wipe if dirty. Don't get water in the ear & don't probe too deep!

had a good look in there with a torch and they look clean as a wistle. think maybe i should pop her down the vets then and see what they say. she lives there recently lol

Ah, don't talk to me about bloody ears! Epi-otic is a good solution.
Could be grass seeds or something stuck down there, or an allergy to something, you can usually tell if it is mites by looking.
