Hi
I have a 20 year old Skewbald cob who has been getting progressively more itchy over the last few years. He is regularly deloused and washed with anti-itch shampoo when the weather is warm enough. He spends most of his time outside and has a lightweight waterproof rug to keep him dry in the winter. Recently he has developed large chunks of dandruff on his back and has rubbed himself raw on a part of his side by scratching with his teeth through the rug.
Does anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this? I have had the vet come and look at him but he couldn't diagnose the problem.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
