Can anyone give me any ideas on what to feed a mare that is fizzy, tbX, will be in medium/hard work in the winter? She will also be fully clipped. I dont want anything that will give her anymore energy or fizzyness? Any ideas ??

agree on the pony nuts! my fizzy mare gets H&P nuts, happy hoof and speedi beat in winter but is only in light work.

I have a tbxcob who got fizzy with most feeds, but tended to loose weight in the winter. I went on to simple systems. No cereals or mollasses, just grass or lucerne/alfafa. I use Lucerne nuts and unmollassed beet with either lucy stalks or ruff stuff chaff to bulk it up - result - healthy, happy, fsane amd full pono who actualy came out of last winter a little overweight!

The other thought would be to move over to haylage if you are on hay

As much hay as it can eat! Alfa A, Fibrebeet, Ride & Relax or similar.

Maybe a probiotic too, and electrolytes if sweaty.
