Right were do i start...had my horse 2years hes a tbx 13yrs old done abit of everything in his life i think more jumping tho got him in the aug he was fine perfect everything i wanted and more he went stiff in the may all in hind legs didnt understand it cudent put it down to anything other then he had a back lady out to check him over few days before he was in at the vets for 2nites said they cudent find anything other then confrimation faults,old injurys,n hes had a badly fittd saddle before i got him so got saddle lady out gave him 2 months of hes been bk in work snice aug n got the al clear in oct from the vets then in feb this year he satrd been stiff again in his hind legs??theres no patten to it at all................before when he was stiff he didnt like standin on hard ground,use to almost look like he was short striding in his back legs???u would seee him in the field resting n he wud go to walk over to u hobble for a few steps n walk out of it....he had bown therapy for almost 3months it seemd to work wel al the problems with the ground etc n him hobbling went.........n then feb he was a little stiff cumin from the stable in a morning like he use to b before caught him resting a few times in the field n hobbles then walks out of it hes not as bad as he was last year when you ride his his happy normal self forward going good boy....hes neva been ful on bad lame only ever stiffness in the back end i just dont get it.....i do worry alot and look for somthing al the time had a phyiso out few weeks ago she said other then tight in his back waht she corrected he was fine,rode tonite hes fine forward goin happy only things i notice now is you wil b goin along n he wil drop in his back end dont knwo if this is lack of muscle or him forgetting what hes doin?????you also pull him up to stand n hes like legs stanced waitin to walk forward he like to be on he does rest when i am on him after about 10mins of been stood but then sumitmes he wont rest at all....
i know this is a long message ut i just really hope someone has been thru simler to help me or advise i want to do right by my boy:) i use him for hackin,local shows n we do plan doin small xc courses as he loves jumpin!!!any help greatful i have my horses best intrests at heart:))
 
It is indeed a mystery. Where did all the full stops go??? That made my brain hurt!

HaHa sorry about that am tryin to do to many things at once on here.
it is a mystery and no patten to it....i dont know if i worry to much!!hes a real baby to feels everything dont think hes been allowed to feel pain before i got him think hes just been rode thru it.!!
 
Hmmm, you posted here a while ago under the name jo-archie about the exact same thing. Maybe it's time to get the vet out to do a proper lameness workup instead of relying on back people. If the horse is lame, he needs a vet, simple.
 
thanks for the info!!hes been seen by a vet,had lameness test done :) n i have been refered to back people by vets!!thanks tho:)
 
But from reading your post above and your previous post, he saw the vet last Oct. Since then, it has been a succession of back people, Bowen people and saddlers. The horse obviously has a problem with his hocks and needs to be seen by a vet now. Get a different vet for a second opinion if the last one told you nothing was wrong, because there obviously is.
Is the horse called Archie?
