Right. Have a few problems with my field and was wondering if any of you geniuses could think of a solution/give me your opinions on my solutions to make it slightly more 'Horsey Friendly'!! ;)

Right, problem number 1: One end of the field is very boggy where all the water from the yard runs down into it when it rains (was thinking if just fencing it off for winter??)

Problem 2: There is NO shelter...not even tree's and baring in mind the pony will be out 24/7 i'm slightly stuck for idea's? (Cant really put up a shelter, but are there any other slightly more portable options?) am also wondering/hoping there was some magical shield from the weather?!?! :o

Thank-you and big cuppa for everyone who can help :D

Can you ditch at the boggy end of the field so the water can run off?

No hedges? As said, a mobile shelter or as a last resort build a wind break with strawbales and tarp but tbh that is only a short term solution.

Get a local farmer to come and dig a ditch at the boggy end of the field. Make it safe though!! Either fill with rubble or fence it off.

Whw use two fence panels at right angles for shelter. It acts as a wind break. As ours never went in the field shelter, prefering instead to stand behind it, I thought this was an ingenuous idea!
