Its been a year already
It seems like just yesterday I got Red, a scrawny, wormy, ugly horse I really didn't want. No personality, except for the smidge of rotten spoilage she had. About to turn 3 years old, I brought her home and started her new journey. I disliked her, but cared for her non the less. I helped her through her anxiety, from being the herd outcast to being with a horse who valued her company. I helped her through her case of rain rot that required a vet out for.
I knocked her down mentally and brought stability back into her life where she knew her place in the world. I slowly allowed her to open up, experience new things, and just plain enjoy life where she didnt have to worry about being chased away from her food, or face the uncertainty of whether she belonged or not.
In turn she has grown into a great mare, to ride and enjoy. She has shown that while she was the ugly duckling she grew into a beautiful swan in her own right. And she promises to grown even more.
