At 1am this morning it was egsactly a year since i carried a small brown newborn puppy home from the vets and spent every couple of hours feeding him as his mum was to ill on the first night. Little did i know how this small brown puppy would change my life.
I have always liked dogs but never wanted one of my own (even as a child i didn't want a puppy) I would happily look after other peoples dogs. But as soon as i met Charlie it was love at first sight. He was the smallest puppy i have ever seen and we didn't think he was going to survive. He was born by cisarean (sp?) and was the only puppy so we had no idea his mum was pregnant. (my bosses dog who we thought just ran off to go ratting). She went into labour on the sun eve but was having trouble so we took her to the vets at about midnight.
I looked after Charlie and we seemed to have a conection I don't know if it was because i looked after him that first night when his mum was ill or what but he seemed to love me more than anyone else. I was so happy when my boss said she had desided to sell him to me as i think if she had sold him to anyone else i would have been hartbroken.
Well what a year we've had so full of ups and downs. He has bought me such happyness Like winning a photo contest at pets at home, doing well at novilty dog shows and just being himself and making me laugh when i need it and giving me a cuddle when i was down. But he has also caused me such worry, Eating slug pellets out on a walk and becoming so ill he nearly died and the tummy ache thing at xmas but we got through it all and i'm just so happy to be his owner.
When he was a small puppy
A little bigger
His prize winning photo
His first xmas day was all to much
his first encounter with the white stuff
Out with the GSD walking club
and his fav place to sleep. (much to my oh's anoyance)
Happy birthday Charlie Brown.
Thanks for looking.
