A seasoned mountain husky she is not. Note death-grip of both the summit and daddy BC. :p

Halfway up:

Next project: doing it in the snow.

Unrelated gripe - up on the summit there was a tiny, trembling little GSP pup. Went over to say hello and was told that he was just four months old. He was dithering in that wet mist, hocks wobbling about everywhere... no, he hadn't been carried up and they hooned back down faster than we did.

That's going to be us in two weeks! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! **Bounces up and down**:D

Where were you?

And - poor puppy:mad:

Aw, poor pup! But such great pics of yours :D

I so love your Dax :D A family friend worked on a research base in the Antarctic (or is the other one? One of them poley bits of the planet) and had quite a bit to do with the dog teams they keep there. I've always wanted one but the independent streak would clash with mine and there would be war! :D

Looks like she had a great day out, and is definitely on the mend :)

Where were you?

Snowdon! :D Went up the pyg track, forgot quite how difficult it is... still ache a bit.

Cayla, she was cool as a cucumber all the way - we went up early but it was getting busy as we headed down and she just ignored all the blathering tourists, the train, sheep, other dogs, travelled like a pro.... couldn't be more pleased. :)

You're telling me, I've never known such a bloody difficult dog and I've never been made to look such a bad and ignorant dog owner before (:o) but I wouldn't change her for the world. Another year or two and she'll be a 'good' dog. :D

Definitely mended, I was so worried it was too early to do it but the vet told me to stop being a pansy and put her back in full work. Not sure that's exactly what he meant but she loved every second and is sound as a pound. :)

Looks absolutely amazing!!! I think this will have to be one of my must dos when I'm older.
I think my 8 and 10 y/o girls would look at me like "as IF Mum!" if I told them we were doing it now!! Love their home comforts, my two :)
Beautiful dog, well done!

Ooh she's back to her best quickly - fab! thought she was still in 'feeling sorry for myself on the sofa' mode :D

I'd love to do something like that but would worry about lack of 'facilities' up there :o wouldn't be able to drink for 2 days before hand incase I got caught short

Well done Daxy-dog!! (and you too :D)

It looks wet enough that if another puddle appeared I think you'd get away with it.... :p The warm leg feeling, on the other hand, would probably not be the comfiest for walking back down  :D

Oi, she said GSP, not GSD, BB, just because wobbly hocks were mentioned! :( :( :p

I am coming across a scary amount of people who think it's OK to whale their pups all over the place (especially on a nice hot sunny day...) without allowing them to grow up first - and these will be the same people who turn round when their dog is broken by the time it is five or six, and complain about the breeder or the breed in general...
I spent a lot of yesterday chasing noobs off the agility equipment.
Asked them nicely to stop putting the ten-month-old over the same 1m hurdle repeatedly (especially seeing as he was VERY uncomfortable jumping and kept refusing and running out) explaining that big dogs need time to grow and repeated impact puts a lot of pressure on young joints. I walked back down the field, turned round and saw them dragging the poor git up the (full height) catwalk by a live choke chain. ARGH!!!!!

Sorry, rant/hijack over :o

Loos are easy Mollichop, just find a nice big boulder patch and get someone to stand guard looking menacing:D

Although a member of my family did almost wee on Henry, when Henry went to find where they were hiding at an innopportune moment up Kinder Scout:eek:

Oh how I sympathise. I went up Snowdon a couple of weeks ago and it was jut like that at the top.
Mind you I have to admit, I cheated and went on the train. Lol.

Nooooo! INFIDEL! :p A train arrived just as we got to the top, the cafe was like a bloody cattle market, I had to tramp all the way back down again without a coffee.

Mollichop, you'd have a hard time finding somewhere discreet to wee, unless you go up at the arsecrack of dawn there's people everywhere! That said it really doesn't take that long, we went up in 1hr 45 and down in 2 (including swimming time in the lake on the way back). None of this six hour nonsense the guidebook says. :p

Definitely a GSP, not a GSD, tiny little mite of a thing with no coat to speak of so he was properly dithering. Twunt of a squaddie owner, encouraging him to run and jump down steep rocks all the way down, back legs wobbling about everywhere. ARGH.

Walking up a mountain is just not the same when there's a coffee shop at the top:rolleyes::D

Doesn't matter if it's been invaded by lazy train people and you can't get in to get a drink anyway. *death glare at Goya* :p ;) :D

The cafe at the bottom does an epic bacon sandwich, mind. Om nom nom. Just take your own flask. :p

In my defence I am getting on a bit. Knees and hips us not what they were.
To add insult to injury, we had taken the dogs with us and I left OH and dogs at the bottom to go for a walk while I went up on the train.(Dogs not allowed on the train)
Please forgive an old infidel.

Ooopsie, sorry! One of these days I will learn to read posts properly!

Still, poor little puppy! No breed should do that much when they are that young, can't be good for any young limbs.
