After 9 long years I'm at long last getting back into the saddle. A friend at my yard has offered me her 15,2 heavy cob for the afternoon. I've started taking the painkillers last night as I know its going to hurt so much, but so worth it.

Please wish me luck :)

How lovely - let us know how much you enjoy yourself.

'There's no stopping me now' might be your tune after this.

Have a great time.

I remember the riding school said that it was gonna hurt but they were really good and told me to come back a couple of days later(when it was its worse) and just sit back on the horse free of charge! It does get better. I havent ridden for a while now and just put some trousers on that I used in winter and they are very tight. In fact I could hardly walk! So clearly going soft.

But I must get back in saddle again. You will love it once you get over the pain barrier! Good luck

When I started riding again fairly recently after a long long break (many years) the pain in my legs would just about be diminished around the time of my next weekly lesson!!! It took about six weekly lessons for me to not feel any pain after a ride!!!
Good luck, hope you have lots of fun!

Just like riding a bike, it was brilliant to be back in the saddle and I'm doing it all again tomorrow, same horse same place I may even be having him on part loan with his owner who is on the same yard and is helping me with my youngster. Looks as if this is a win win situation :D
