ITS HERE!

It is really here in Kent :D

Having fields harrowed and rolled this morning - just loving working* from home and listening to the sound of the tractor going up and down

I've got the very start of tiny green shoots....if you squint and think really positively! lol It's been such a hard winter.....come on spring!

We have a little bit of grass. The field is beginning to have a slight haze of green on it and the horses are not lined up at the fence waiting for the morning hay delivery. The snow and strong winds had a really bad effect and we had several weeks of completely dead and scorched field which did worry me!

YO rolled it last week - possibly not the day I would have chosen since we'd had 3 weeks of drying wind and the field had been perfect to roll, but he then waited until after two days of heavy rain and the roller churned it up rather than flattening it down. He's left the roller in the field, so I'm hoping he'll give it another go in a few weeks :)

Still not enough for me to divide the field and stick them on their summer "mini field" yet though and I'm still feeding hay twice a day, though trying to gradually cut down the amount.

well the swallows are back and nest building like mad in the stables, but it so cold today wind seems to be in north again and no sun, not really much grass yet, ponies still needing hay to supplement small amount of grass.
