I'm moving to my new livery yard tomorrow
smile.gif

i'm really very nervous about it all! my friend moved her horse at the weekend so she's already settled but i don't know anyone else yet so am getting all worried that i won't fit in
shocked.gif
please tell me that its notrmal to feel so stressed about moving?! its not being helped by the fact that i have 5 years worth of stuff to sort out and move up to new yard tonight
frown.gif

having said all of that i am SO glad that i'm leaving as the atmosphere on current yard has become almost unbearable. YM went through a period of talking to me again (after ignoring me for weeks) but other members of her clique have been blanking me
frown.gif
then last night as i was schooling my youngster YM started pratting about down side of arena with spooky stuff and baby horse went ballistic- broncing all over the place (i still don't know how i stayed on
blush.gif
) now i know we've all accidentally spooked horses but when i've done this i've at least had the decency to apologise! YM just turned and walked off!!

so mid-bronco i yelled "thanks a lot"

This morning she's now back to ignoring me...her face looks like she's sucked on a lemon all because she can't take any criticism whatsoever!

so anyway, very glad to be going tomorrow! sorry about the long, pointless post but needed to air it!!

big fat jam doughnuts for getting this far

Good luck with the move and its totally normal to feel nervous... then the first week or so you will need to find your routine etc but soon it will feel like you've been there years!!!

I moved at the weekend too and am still settling in but know its the best thing to do...

You will soon be enjoying the time you spend with your horses!!!

well its got to better than where you are now!!
ooo.gif
Know what you mean about all the stuff you have to move though, it's like moving house !! Anway, its the right thing to do after what you have put up with. I bet in 2 weeks time you'll feel like you've been there forever.

Good luck x x

I can never understand why some YOs are like this when someone wants to move. It's a business decision, nothing personal, but they seem to want to make it personal with the blanking of people, stopping doing what they are paid to do & other nonsense.

I moved about 6 months ago to a yard about a mile away & I still see my old yard owner & we chat. My daughter still works weekends for him which is the proper way to be.

I love the yard where I am now, it took no time at all to fit in with other liveries & you'll do the same.......don't worry.

Doughnuts! Ooooh, I loves doughnuts I do
grin.gif
. Wonder what they're like dunked in a hot choccy....
cool.gif
.

Well, if that is the pratish and dangerous attitude of the idiot YO (who is breaking her duty of care, but that's a by-the-by), then sooooooooo pleased you're getting out of there
grin.gif
.

Hope all goes really well and you're soon sorted and settled.

Hope all goes well, you'll be settled in no time

Natural to feel nervous, but if YM is doing stupid and dangerous things like that, you've got to be better off somewhere else! Anyone, who thinks spooking a horse deliberately is putting you at risk, I wouldn't want to be at a yard with someone who is so irresponsible.

Good luck and keep us posted

I moved yards 2 weeks ago after being at my previous yard for 8 1/2 years! I got on with everyone there, but I had moved home and was doing 50mile round trips every day. Found a yard on my doorstep and was very wary about moving as didnt know anybody there at all, but 2 weeks on - I have to say best thing I could have done. Horsey is completely settled, everyone is really friendly and they all made the effort to come and introduce themselves to me and to horsey. Only downside is trying to remember everyones names!!

O so glad I bothered to read it - doughnut for breakfast fab!!!
laugh.gif

Pack your stuff and get yourself and your neds to the new yard! You all ready have a friend there and in no time at all you will feel like part of the furniture!! It can't be worse than where you are now - remember your lists of pros and cons?? fish it out and have a read......all year t/o, no YM with face like a smacked @rse......
grin.gif

Good luck with move!!
smile.gif

thankies folks!
grin.gif

am glad that other people are finding that their moves have gone well
smile.gif

its such a shame as i really get on with the YO and he's said i'm always welcome back...i just made a rather thinly veiled comment that there would need to be a change in YM before i would think about ever going back!
