So my horse was scoped today and no ulcers at all were found.(:D) She also had her ovaries scanned and one was slightly larger but that could be down to her coming into season.

I've been told to let her have this season and then start her on the regumate, has anybody had any experiences with mares with ulcer symptoms on regumate?

She's girthy and very naughty being ridden to the point she is dangerous to ride but sweet as anything on the ground

My mare had dangerous seasons, to the point you couldn't go near her back end, her tummy or press on her back without her getting free with her legs or teeth. She did display colic like symptoms but it was pain.

regumate stopped all that, and she was able to have all of the above touched with out any problems. (she is now retired with KS) i did take her off it after two years as she put loads of weight we couldn't shift on her, think hormone treatment for us, but thankfully it had re set her seasons and she has been fine since.

My mare who is very sweet and a dream to ride just started being ever so slightly argumentative a couple of months ago , straightaway on regumate and issue disappeared as quick as it came

I will keep her on it all summer from now on.

Saves a lot of hassle for me and I don't like the thought of her being uncomfortable or upset.

Makes for a easier life I think.

Mine is on regumate all year round, pretty much unrideable not on it, angel (95% of the time!) on it. I can even tell when she has been under dosed it makes that much of a difference!! No side effects and no weight gain. And you can get it cheaper with a prescription on some of these online shops (think 1/2 price!!)
