It's official... I NOW OWN A PONY!<3

Oh no! :(
Just read her notes on her passport and it says she was covered by a gypsy cob, April 20th this year. Got vet coming out next week to do bloods and possible scan. Praying she isn't a BOGOF :(

I suppose if you didn't ask there is not much you can do as it is openly on her passport. What are your thoughts?

I feel sorry that you have been put in this position.

I checked her passport when I went to view her and must have missed it! When I read it I nearly fainted and was straight on the phone to the equine vet in my area. Was told if she is, too late to abort (that's what I wanted to do) and that vet should go out to do bloods and poss scan (which is happening next week). I text the old owner and said 'Is there any chance of her being infoal' to which she replied 'no' followed by 'If she is, it's buy one get one free. Joking' :(

I'd hoped to get her showing next year but I can't if she's pregnant :(

A tough one, but if it is a real problem to you maybe you should sell before you get too fond...or is it too late for that?

I'm already fond of her and she came from such a bad home I felt I had to give her a second chance :( But I didn't know she may be pregnant :(

Do you have enough land to support both? You have plenty of time to get used to the idea. Do you really need a scan as well as blood test? You know when she was covered.

Yes plenty of land to support both. Vet on phone said to do bloods first and if inconclusive to be scanned. April 20th 2013.
I need to go to work, will reply later. Thank you x

Wow, I was interested in following this thread anyway, but now (with a possible cute foal on the way), i am even more excited/intrigued to see what happens! (sorry!)

Keep us updated! :)

UPDATE:
She came straight to me and ate from my hand! SO HAPPY with her, she's ever so lovely<3

This comment made me smile! I am so proud of her, she's a little superstar :D
Can't imagine her being pregnant so just going to say she isn't until I know for sure :D

Did you watch the video?? :)

Not commented on this as of yet ! Looks like the little girl has landed on her hooves with you ! As soon as you find out if she is expecting let me now and I will send all of our baby stuff over for you :-) x we have a spare leadrope to that is slightly chewed so suitable for a foal who will no doubt chew everything. The nylon headcollar is okay to lead in but wouldn't leave on in the field... to be honest I wouldn't even leave a leather one on when they are young :) But no point worry about that just yet.....

She is stunning and you should be so very proud of yourself chuck x

She's very cute :) Looking at the last pic she's quite a fine-boned little girl. If she's in foal I'd be wanting to know what size cob she was put to. She is adorable though, very inquisitive. How old is she?

Thank you everyone :) Very proud of my wee one!! (I hope you don't mind me keeping an online diary on here)

DAY 3:
She's started to come to me and eat from my hand! I can walk up to her without her moving away and she's doing so well! She follows me when I have the bucket (FOOD LOVER) and hasn't shown any nastiness at all. Very proud!
Luckily it's my day off work so going down to her three times today, she's better appreciate it :D

And a morning video<3

He is a 14hh ''gypsy'' cob :( She's 11hh and 5 years old. :(

:O Was he very heavy do you know? I don't want to alarm you but I don't think it was a well thought-out coupling. Anyway if she's in foal at least you can let the vet know about the stallion. She is lovely, and I look forward to following your progress :)

Yes he was heavy, very big boned and a lot of feather. My poor girl :(

Oh gosh ? Again not to worry but will this cause problems during birth ?? Some people just don't have a clue why would you breed a big stallion to a teenie thing like her

Not necessarily but it does increase the risk, for obvious reasons. It's not just the height that would worry me (with a similar type of horse this doesn't seem to be a huge factor within reason of course!), but she's small and imo quite fine - she's not built like a standard Shetland for instance. Anyway, she might not be in foal so I don't want to worry you unnecessarily ChestnutTinker. She's found a lovely home, and your vet will be able to advise you best on how to go forwards if she is in foal. Looking forwards to updates :)

She's not a shetland :o Don't know if you were using that as an example or not.
I just want to take every day as it comes with her and to take it slow, if she is pregnant i'll deal with it when we come to it, if not, PHEW!! The stallion is huge compared to her so I am praying she isn't!!

Thank you for all your comments xx

Just using it as an example as in she's not built as robustly as a Shetland. Don't listen to me - enjoy your pony :)
